Setting up your server

Introduction

This guide will show you the basics of setting up your server so it is available and authenticating against Steam’s servers properly using a token.

Prerequisites / Disclaimers

  • You have a Counter-Strike 2 server

  • You have a valid and unbanned Steam account

Purpose

To assist you with setting up a Counter-Strike 2 server.

Procedure

Generating a token

  1. Open your preferred web-browser

  2. Visit - https://steamcommunity.com/dev/managegameservers

    1. Sign-in if asked

    2. Check over the Account Requirements to ensure you meet Steam’s guidelines

  3. Enter the App ID as 730

  4. Enter the Memo as something memorable



  5. Click on Create

    Do not share this token! Treat it as sensitive information.

  6. Copy the Login Token

  7. With this token you can now proceed with the ‘Applying a token’ procedure.

Applying a token

  1. Head over to the Game Panel

    1. Game Panel - https://panel.deltanetworks.au/

    2. Open / Manage your server

    3. Click on Startup Parameters

  2. Paste your Login Token into the [Steam] Gameserver Login Token field

    1. Hint: Click away from the box to save your setting



  3. Your server is now able to communicate with the servers in order for you to join your game

Joining your server

  1. Start your server

  2. Open Counter-Strike 2 on your computer

  3. Press the ~ key to open console

    1. Hint: Nothing happening? Make sure Console is enabled. Follow this external guide ↗️ explaining how to enable the Console.

  4. Type in connect {serveripaddress:port}

    1. Hint: Where {serveripaddress:port} is your allocated server IP and port. This can be copied by left-clicking it from the top-left corner of the Game Panel.
