Adding bots to your server

Introduction

Our World At War (T4) servers come preloaded with bots if you choose to use them. By default they do not spawn on server launch, this is to provide you the option of having them or not without extra steps to load or unload them.

  • Ability to access your server console via the Game Panel

Purpose

This guide teaches you how to add bots to your server and provides additional commands to tweak them.

Procedure

Adding bots to your server

You can click ‘Learn more’ on each step if you’re not sure how to complete it.

  1. Open your server’s console from the Game Panel - Learn More

  2. Go to the type a command… section

  3. To add “fill 10 bots” to your server (5v5) type in set bots_manage_fill 10

  4. Press enter

  5. You should see bots now loading in (connecting)

  6. If you stop your server, you will need to repeat steps 1 to 4 again.

Additional commands for configuring bots

Here is a table of additional commands you can enter into the console.

What rank to set the bots.

  • -1 - Average of all players in the match.

  • 0 - All random.

  • 1 or higher - Sets the bots' rank to this.

set bots_loadout_prestige

What prestige to set the bots.

  • -1 - Same as host player in the match.

  • -2 - All random.

  • 0 or higher - Sets the bots' prestige to this.

set bots_loadout_reasonable

If the bots should filter bad performing create-a-class selections.

The lowest range of bot skill. Set max the same for no randomness.

The highest range of bot skill. Set min the same for no randomness.

set bots_manage_fill

Amount of players/bots (look at bots_manage_fill_mode) to maintain in the match.

bots_manage_fill players/bots counting method.

  • 0 - counts both players and bots.

  • 1 - only counts bots.

  • 2 - exactly 0 but auto adjusts bots_manage_fill to map.

  • 3 - exactly 1 but auto adjusts bots_manage_fill to map.

  • 4 - bots are used for balancing teams.

  • 5 - exactly 4 but auto adjusts bots_manage_fill to map.

set bots_manage_fill_kick

0

If the amount of players/bots in the match exceeds bots_manage_fill, kick bots until no longer exceeds.
