Introduction

To make your Factorio server available to the public, you will need to fetch your authentication token from https://factorio.com. This will enable your server to appear in the in-game public server list. The guide below will help you obtain an authentication token and configure your server to use it.

There are two methods to retrieving your token. One of them is logging into https://factorio.com and the other is by going to %appdata%\Factorio\player-data.json

This guide will only cover how to retrieve this by going online and logging in with your account (or Steam linked account).

Fetching your token from factorio.com

1) Go to https://factorio.com and click on login or sign up in the top right then login with your username and password or sign up for an account.

2) From the top right of the page after logging in, you will see your username, click on it to go to your profile page as shown below

3) Using the above image as an example you can then click on the 'reveal' button to show your token for your server

4) Copy this key to your clipboard and head over to your server via our Game Panel.

5) Login and access your server's control panel

6) Stop your server

7) Navigate to Configuration > Startup Parameters using the left-sidebar

8) Paste your server token in this field and then click away from the box. You should see a successful save message.

9) Start your server

10) The server should establish a successful authentication with the master server. If you go in-game you will see your server on the public server list now.
